Tasting notes
Nose
A pleasant hit of sweet orchard fruitiness: stewed pear, boiled apple sweets and crabapple jelly. This evolves into more tart aromas of rhubarb and quince. A drop of water enhances the heady orchard fruits, accented by a touch of vanilla sugar.
Palate
Slightly syrupy on the palate, underscored by a medley of delicate spices: chervil, dill and parsley. A bittersweet layer is apparent with juicy grapefruit, blood orange and homemade apricot jam. Passionfruit and pomegranate seeds emerge with time, to add a tropical complexity.
Finish
The finish is brimful of fairground toffee apples and the earthy, treacle-like quality of pecan pie, coated in caramel glaze.
