A batch of four hogsheads from Glen Elgin was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2007 and aged for more than 12 years.
Brimful of complex and contradicting flavours, this Glen Elgin is still perfectly balanced, while offering a few delectable surprises.

Tasting notes
Nose:
We are greeted by the comforting aromas of sparkling apple cider, figs and warm custard. A slight bitterness rolls in with some grapefruit, as well as the buttery-yet-herbal notes of rosemary-seasoned root vegetables.
With a drop of water, some maple-glazed pecans appear.
Palate:
Spicier and more citrusy than on the nose, we are treated to a mélange of cardamom and turmeric with a touch of clementine.
The palate becomes creamier and waxier with the introduction of sticky toffee pudding and vanilla fondant. A sprinkle of water renders the palate more syrupy sweet, reminiscent of strawberry coulis.
Finish:
The sweet, sticky quality remains but is infused with peppermint, clove and liquorice spices. There is a shadow of apple lingering on since the nose, drizzled with a vegetal, Matcha-like accent.
